Maria Paz S. Angeles is Of Counsel at Schick & Associates LLC and is based in Hong Kong. Ms. Angeles’ practice includes mergers and acquisition, privatizations, lending and other financing arrangements, and debt and equity capital markets transactions. Among many other transactions that she has handled, she represented JG Summit Philippines Ltd (Cayman) in a US$50 million syndicated term loan, JGSH Philippines, Limited (BVI) in two issues of US$300 million high yield notes and JG Summit Holdings, Inc. in various equity offerings.

Ms. Angeles holds a Masters of Law degree from Yale Law School, was granted a Certificate of International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law, holds the degree of Juris Doctor from Ateneo De Manila University, and graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Business Economics. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1995 after receiving the tenth highest average in the 1994 Philippine Bar Examinations and is also a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong.

Ms. Angeles lectured at the Lyceum of the Philippines from 1995 to 2004, acted as Legal Consultant to The Services Group (World Bank Consultants) in relation to the privatization of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, and was also a technical adviser to the Philippine delegation in the 1997 United Nations Preparatory Committee Hearings on the establishment of an International Criminal Court.

In addition to her role as Of Counsel at Schick & Associates LLC, Ms. Angeles is also a partner in the Hong Kong office of a leading Philippine law firm, Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & De los Angeles, with which Schick & Associates LLC has an informal alliance.
